If you are planning your first visit to a shooting range, welcome. At Orlando Shooting Sports Range Academy, we want every new student to feel confident and comfortable the moment they walk in.
Here is what you need to know before your visit.
1. Age Requirements
You must be at least 12 years old to enter the range, and minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
To rent a firearm or purchase ammunition, you must be 21 years of age.
2. Safety Comes First
All firearms must be transported in a bag or box. Upon entering the facility, you will receive a safety overview and may be asked to complete a basic waiver and range orientation.
During your visit, certified range officers will be present to monitor safety and offer assistance.
3. What to Bring
For beginner classes, all required materials are provided unless noted. Otherwise, we recommend:
Valid government-issued ID
Comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes
Eye and ear protection (available for rent or purchase)
A willingness to learn and ask questions
4. What to Expect in a Beginner Course
Our Beginner Shooters Course is hands-on and instructor-led. You will learn basic firearm handling, safety procedures, and get personalized guidance on the range. It is perfect for first-time gun owners or anyone looking to build confidence.
